How do I become a volunteer?
The first step is to fill out an application. This application can be found at the front desk of our main office (2015 Ocean Drive Suite 11, Boynton Beach, FL 33426). The steps that proceed are explained on the application, but include:
   1.- Application
        - General Application
        - Copy of official photo identification
        - Signed business Agreement (BAA)
        - Two reference forms (2)
        - Background check if over 18 (completed by MMR)
   2.- Make an appointment for an interview
        - Call 561-319-3564 to make an appointment for an interview.
        - The purpose of this interview is to gather information on volunteer’s availability, interests, and skills in order to insure proper placement within the practice.
   3.- Complete a health verification process
        - TB/PDD screening
        - Flu vaccination (during flu season November 1- March 31)
   4.- Attend a scheduled code of conduct orientation
       - Once the application process is completed, the volunteer will be scheduled for orientation.
       - Orientation dates are assigned monthly.
       - Orientation can take up to 2-3 hours.
          i. Code of Conduct (1 hour)
         ii. ID Badge assignment
        iii. Introduction to medical staff and tour of building

Do I need to be a patient to volunteer?
No, you do not need to be a patient. As long as you pass the application process you are eligible for volunteering.

How old do I have to be to volunteer?
Volunteers must be 18 or older to apply.

Where would I volunteer?
Most volunteering will take place on site at MRR Healthcare. This could be in the main office, VIP Educational Center, or the Walk-in Clinic. However, there will be opportunity for volunteering at events, health fairs, or outreach we participate in that is offsite.

How much does it cost to volunteer?
Volunteering is free of charge.

What time of day would I volunteer?
On your application, you will see a section which asks you to pick the best times and dates for you to volunteer. The options include Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Once we review your application, we will further discuss your availability during the interview.

I have to complete Community Service hours; will Bethesda accept me as a volunteer?
We do accept some volunteers who need to complete community service hours. We will need to discuss why the community service hours are required. The safety and privacy of the patients visiting MMR Healthcare is always a priority to us.

Is there a uniform?
There is no official uniform, but you must come dressed appropriately. This means knee length dresses/skirts, slacks, covered shoulders, and/or closed toed shoes.

I do not live in South Florida year-round. Can I still volunteer?
This describes the situation for most people who live in the area. Seasonal people can volunteer at MMR Healthcare. You can sign up for a specific event or come in to volunteer while you are here. We are happy to have you and can talk about your availability during the interview.

Can I pick a certain area of interest?
On the application, there is an area where you can check off areas of interest. We will further discuss what you will sign up for during the interview.
